Prior to pairing up in the summer of 1998, Jamie had skated for four years as a singles skater and previous went to the 1994 Olympics in pairs with Jason Turner. David was a singles skater as well and skated with many partners. They found their magic together and quickly made their mark on the international scene, winning medals at all four Grand Prix events they entered in the fall of 1998 and 1999. Their "Love Story" long program earned them a record number of perfect scores at the 2000 Canadian Championships. They entered the 2002 Olympics as the reigning World Champions and reprised their Love Story routine to share the gold medal with Russians Berezhnaya and Sikharulidze. The immediately turned professional after the Olympics and now tour with Stars On Ice.
