Sad news - it's been reported on the Gordeeva and Grinkov Corner that Katia's father, Alexander, recently passed away. There are not many details surrounding the cause of his death, but you can view the thread on the Forum page and also post your condolences.

February 16 was the 20th Anniversary of G&G's first Olympic Gold Medal. That was the first time many fans fell in love with their skating, so, Happy Anniversary to their accomplishment and to 20 years of enjoying our favorite Olympic Pairs Champions!

Katia was recently profiled on the Russian talk show, "Let Them Talk." Many people from her life, past and present, were there to talk about Katia's life and Gordeeva & Grinkov. A video of the entire show (in Russian) and an English transcript are available over at Gordeeva.com. Katia (& Ilia) recently skated in Moscow, in Red Square. The link below is to video of a news story covering the event, and include a short clip of Katia's skating and a short interview Ilia gave with Katia standing right next to him. The video is all in English.

I apologize for the lack of updates and new videos posted to A Kind of Magic in recent months. I have a good excuse, though - I am pregnant and expecting a baby boy any day now! (that's me, Traci, the webmaster of this site and not Katia!) While I don't anticipate having much free time after he is born, I hope to be able to add new videos on a regular basis again and spend more time on this web site soon.
