2000 Cup of Russia - Lifetime interview

Lifetime (Andrea Joyce): An emotional performance for all three of you. Elena, what does it mean to you? How special is it to be able to win this event here in St. Petersburg at home?

Elena: This is so special and so important and it's really, really… I'm so, so happy and we skated well here and it was very hard for us, like, very hard program, very emotion, but we did it and it's so meaningful to me.

Lifetime: Anton, you have both talked in the past about the pressure of competing here in St. Petersburg but it almost seemed like the crowd helped you tonight. Did it?

Anton: Yes, sure, the crowd helped us and we're really happy skating good here in St. Petersburg, especially. And we really enjoyed this program tonight and thank you very much for everybody.

Lifetime: Tamara, we watched you watching the Chinese pairs team compete just before them. What was going through your mind?

Tamara Moskvina: I was thinking, "OK, the Chinese team was perfectly doing the technical stuff," and I was kind of estimating what is the reaction of the public. I knew that Elena and Anton would do technical stuff also well because they were ready and I kind of thought the (audience response) from their performance would be much better and I expected that.

Lifetime: You were pacing a little bit, though, back here (Elena and Tamara laugh). Congratulations to all of you. We'll see you in Paris.

Anton: Thank you very much.
