1999 Japan Open - TNT interview

TNT (Alice Cook): Backstage with Elena Berezhnaya and Anton Sikharulidze. You have to be happy with that short program. Right?

Anton: Right? (to Elena)

Elena: Right.

Anton: Right. Sure, we happy because you know it's good program and today we skating not beautifully but good and we happy.

TNT: You guys just won Russian Nationals. You're on a roll. You've been on a roll since Worlds last year. What are your goals for this season?

Anton: Elena?

Elena: We go like straight, like to the future and just want to skate good and enjoy it. And we wanna to people to like us.

TNT: Your English is getting great!

Elena: No, (Anton points to himself and says, "mine.") No way!

TNT: You will be living in New Jersey now because your coach has set up shop there. Are you excited about living in the United States for a while?

Anton: Yes, sure! Yes, because you know we have great condition in the United States and you know it's really easy for training and you know, I like the United States. I like the people around me in the United States and everybody happy and everybody try to help us and we're so happy skating there.

TNT: OK, great.

Anton: Thank you.

TNT: Good luck at Worlds.

Elena: Thank you. Thanks.
